Shearing

  • componentA2_capabilities_specialFab_shear_01_imageA shear is used to ‘cut’ sheet metal. First, the material is clamped in place, then a moving, hydraulically-powered blade is brought down along a fixed blade to cut the material.

An Accessory to Other Manufacturing Processes

AGAM mostly uses the shear as an accessory to other manufacturing processes. Parts made from a thin sheet of aluminum are easily cut to size on a shear, in situations where using the laser or waterjet would be impractical.
