Agam Meets the Moment with Public Health Solutions

As the nation came to grips with the impact of the coronavirus and the stay-at-home orders that came with it, Agam made finding a way to help workers on the frontlines, patients — and our employees — a priority. We quickly shifted our focus from fabricating components for trade show booths to creating temporary structures for use as field hospitals.

Agam Meets the Moment with Public Health Solutions

It was clear from the start that our experience quickly designing, estimating, fabricating, and shipping custom products for our trade show clients would easily translate to our newest task. The team worked tirelessly to adapt pieces from existing designs from projects like in-store healthcare clinics for this new purpose.

Solving Today’s Challenges

We knew we had a lot to offer, but in order to make sure what we were offering was useful we made sure to consult with experts in disaster response. The original intent was to produce temporary structures for drive through Covid-19 testing sites. However, in talking with the experts we learned the greater need was for field hospital spaces.

Solving Today’s Challenges

Our modular, scalable, easy-to-install system was the perfect solution. With some modifications, and customizations, such as developing a negative airflow solution, we got to work producing what would become temporary hospital rooms for those suffering from Covid-19.

Because we have three production lines in our facility we can quickly fabricate and deliver products without a long lead time. In just a week, Agam was able to deliver more than 1,000 units to the State University of New York (SUNY) hospital system.

These structures can be customized for large or small spaces, and can be as basic or as complex as required. Although SUNY is using the system for temporary field hospitals, the system can be configured for a variety of uses, including testing sites, administrative offices, and more.

Protecting Essential Workers

Along with providing structures for frontline healthcare workers and patients, Agam is helping to protect essential workers and the public at grocery stores, pharmacies, and other retail locations.

Our affordable plexiglass hygiene barriers provide a protective shield to promote safer interactions. We’re proud that some of our barriers are already in use at retail locations.

Protecting Essential Workers

Like nearly all of our products, we’ve fabricated these in standard sizes and sizes customized to meet specific design needs.

Preparing for What Comes Next

While we work on delivering safety solutions for our current situation, we’re also thinking ahead to what comes next. As social distancing restrictions ease and guidelines evolve — whenever that may be — we will be returning to a very changed world.

Our design team is exploring barrier options that help places like restaurants and bars adhere to social distancing guidelines while also allowing establishments to keep as many tables in their space as possible to protect their revenue stream.

Preparing for What Comes Next

Office environments, particularly those with shared workstations and open design plans, manufacturing facilities, and anywhere people work in close proximity to one another will also need adjustments to accommodate a safe return to work. Agam is working hard to develop and test a variety of barrier solutions.
